Um einschätzen zu können, ob eine schülerorientierte, kooperative Lernform zum Lernerfolg führt oder nicht, muss zunächst bestimmt werden, worin überhaupt das Lernziel dieser Lernform besteht. Da das Lernen in der Gruppe offensichtlich nicht in line with se zu positiven Lerneffekten führt, müssen zweitens die Bedingungen identifiziert werden, unter denen diese Lernziele erreicht werden können. Es ist folglich wichtig zu klären, welche Rahmenbedingungen im Allgemeinen als ideale Voraussetzung für erfolgreiches kooperatives Lernen angesehen werden können. Im Besonderen soll hier gefragt werden, welche dieser positiven Strukturmerkmale sich auch an den Jenaplan-Schulen identifizieren lassen und inwiefern sich diese von den üblichen Lern- und Lehrbedingungen an deutschen Regelschulen unterscheiden.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit werde ich zunächst zum Stellenwert der Gruppe im pädagogischen Konzept Petersens Bezug nehmen. Dabei soll vor allem das Verhältnis von Gruppe und Gemeinschaft in Abgrenzung zur Klasse bzw. Gesellschaft herausgestellt werden. Auch soll deutlich gemacht werden, welche Lernziele und Vorteile Petersen mit dem kooperativen Lernen verbindet. Dabei beziehe ich mich vor allem auf Petersens „Kleinen Jena-Plan“ selbst. Im zweiten Kapitel möchte ich die an Jena-Planschulen üblichen Rahmenbedingungen und ihre Relevanz für das kooperative Lernen erläutern. Dabei stütze ich mich neben der Literatur zur Jena-Planpädagogik auch auf zwei unabhängige Werke zum Thema kooperatives Lernen von Konrad & Traub sowie Klippert, welche wichtige Hinweise zu den notwendigen Rahmenbedingungen für kooperatives Lernen enthalten. In der abschließenden Schlussfolgerung sollen alle wesentlichen Erkenntnisse der Arbeit in Hinblick auf die Ausgangsthese zusammengefasst werden.
